The Holy City
This holy city is located in western Saudi Arabia and is also known as Makkah. It is one of the Five Pillars of Islam to make a pilgrimage here, and therefore is a destination for millions of Muslims each year. Prophet Muhammad was born here and it is a sacred place for Muslims and the birthplace of Islam.
Non-muslims are not permitted into Mecca and the government of Saudi Arabia issues special visas for people making the pilgrimage. Most people coming to the Mecca will enter via the Hajj Terminal at King Abdulaziz International Airport and Jeddah is the gateway to the city.
The Hajj has a fairly set itinerary including a visit to the Sacred Mosque, al-Masjid al-Haram, built around the Kaaba. This is a holy place. Too hot in summer. Looks like this is safe City but also to be vigilant as lot of people visiting heere. Prices are not fixed and needs to be knowledgeable about the cost, otherwise you may end up paying more. Lot of food choices here. Most of travelers are pilgrims to visit Macca. It is better to understand Arabic, because sometimes, it is hard for people here to understand English. However, they can find the translator, if required. Whenever I have time off, visiting Mecca is always at the top of my list! It's a place that draws you in, and every time you leave, you feel like you haven't had enough and want to return for more. Besides performing Umrah and prayers, it has a unique appeal to the heart and soul. Of course, it is the House of Allah!

I liked the trip.
I liked the trip. Hotel location is prime location and there service is very good.( Swissôtel Makkah) The only thing I can’t find kids entertainment or even near by Haram ( walking distance). The people selling in the street making more crowd while going to Haram or others asking for taxi ride. The virtual museum is good attraction. Especially for kids. Shopping is overpriced.

A beautiful city where you can work upon your soul. It's a very important city for Muslims specifically. The moment you enter the city, you'll get an emotional connection with the city. The moment you enter the Masjid Al Haram, you'll forget everything. Apart from that it also has historical places to visit in and around Makkah. I would highly recommend this city to all Muslims that they should visit at least once in their life.Mohsin

I preferred taxi with family and wheelchair accessibility. You can get dropped off and picked up very close to Haram gates and that makes the walk to a minimum compared to some hotels near Haram. The reception staff are satisfactory, Service staff are quite friendly. The family rooms were simple but comfortable. All basic amenities available. Hotel food is fine.
